Digna started in the industry in June 1989 as a runner at Cell Animation in the motion control studio, after 4 months he became a trainee camera assistant and worked on many prestigious commercials including 'Guinness - Chain' and 'Muller Yoghurt - Stairs'. Digna also worked on many tv titles and corporate logos and idents such as 'BBC1' and 'BBC2' idents as well as promos for George Michael, Roxette and Annie Lennox.

During this time at cell animation, Digna became increasingly involved in the research, design and development of new and improved motion control equipment and techniques, including the installation of the worlds first Cyclops rig using the first version of Flair software. Digna also assisted with the development of the academy award winning Milo motion control system.

Digna also has been involved with the integration between 3d computer graphics and motion control systems and became senior camera assistant from 1994 until he left Cell Animation in may 1996. His final duties included organising and maintaining 4 motion control systems as well as being responsible for 3 other camera assistants.

In may 1996 Digna became one of the original members of Mill Film, draughted in to expand the motion control capabilities for The Mill. This was achieved by updating existing equipment to raise the departments profile and training current operators to work on the more complex commercials and feature film work. During his time at Mill Film the department grew from a single Milo system and 2 operators to 5 various sytems and 8 operators. When The Mill closed Mill Film late in 2002, Digna set up The VFX Company with Rob and Malcolm.
