George Michael Multiplied For 'As' Promo

Using 2 MILO motion control rigs the promo was built up of more than 9 sequences, each one containing more than 50 passes of 'cloned' George Michael's and Mary J Blige's. To achieve a hand held look each Milo was fitted with an electronic sensor device called grip sticks. These allowed the director to 'follow' the 'hero' actor using Pan and Tilt at the camera. This could be done simultaneously to the rig performing its pre-programmed move, and then memorised and repeated later.

Once a take was chosen this was repeated again and again with various George's and Mary's singing in differing positions within the scene. Frame accurate playback systems were used to allow the live image to be mixed with previously shot footage, all with sound sync. The directors could assess the action, relative to previous action, on the spot, and decide if that was a usable take.

Various effects passes were also shot including clean backgrounds, lens flares and lighting beams.
