VFX works with Ridley Scott's epic, 'Black Hawk Down'
Previously shot live action plates were matched for lens and perspective using a Vista Vision camera. A motor driven model mover had been constructed to replicate the pre-visualised motion of the crashing helicopter. These motors were directly linked to a motion control system. Data generated from 'MAYA' could then be used to programme the computer that controlled the Helicopter.
Dust effects filmed at high speed as well as other foreground elements added to the sense of scale.
